Butter

The MoistScan® MA-700 online moisture sensor is designed mainly with the dairy industry in mind. The microwave technique has been proven to be successful in the determination of both the moisture and salt content of cheese or butter. Callidan Instruments have done considerable research in discovering the relationship between the microwave response with respect to dielectric loss and dielectric constant with that of moisture and salt levels.

Typically the MoistScan® MA-700 obtains an instrument precision of 0.3% for moisture and 0.08% for salt.
